BT Group plc is a British multinational telecommunications holding company headquartered in London, England. It has operations in around 180 countries and is the largest provider of fixed-line, broadband and mobile services in the UK, and also provides subscription television and IT services.

BT Group has accelerated its net zero targets and has launched a campaign to get the nation talking about climate change.

BT Group has announced plans to curb its carbon emissions sooner than planned, by bringing forward its net zero target from 2045 to 2030 for its own operational emissions and 2040 for its supply chain and customer emissions.

The new target comes as a landmark UN climate report has warned that global heating is irreversible, with its starkest warning yet that urgent action is needed to reduce emissions.

BT Group has led on climate action for 30 years has pledged to cut the emissions intensity of its business by 87% by the end of March 2031 and has set targets in line with the most ambitious aim of the COP21 Paris Agreement – linking its targets to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

WarmTronics are working with BT and its Facilities Management provider, CBRE, to use WarmTronics Heat Mats as an alternative to Gas heating.

This includes using WarmTronics Heat Mats in its distribution warehouse, where its team are in a static location working at standing workstations. The built-in anti-fatigue mat helps improve user wellness and productivity, whilst reducing BT’s carbon emissions.

WarmTronics have custom designed a Heat Mat to BT’s specification for its Head Office security team, to warm them in a more energy efficient manner, whilst also reducing their energy costs.
